Raven Hill Shiba Inus    

Raven Hill Kennel was started over 15 years ago when my mother began to own/breed Yorkshire Terriers.  Over time, we kept a few of our favorite Yorkies as pets and decided to explore other interests in life.   “Raven Hill” still shows up on some of the pedigrees of some champion Yorkie bloodlines.

 

In 2002, I found myself graduated from high school and starting college.  I felt I had a little more time on my hands than I was use to.  After months, and months… AND MONTHS of research/deliberation.  I decided I wanted to “revive” Raven Hill and get back into the dog fancy.  I researched breeds, bloodlines, structure/anatomy of dogs, joined Bahia Sur Kennel Club, and visited many dog shows.  Upon sight I fell in love with the Shiba Inu. 

 

I began showing Shibas in 2004 (two years of research before I even owned a Shiba!!).  There has been no looking back since!  I have learned so much along the road I have traveled with me dogs.  My Shibas are ALL owner handled and loved to the fullest degree.  My dogs are my pets first, and show dogs second.  I also try to avoid labeling myself a full-fledged “breeder”.  I like to consider myself a Shiba owner/exhibitor and then occasional breeder. 

 

At the present: I have 3 Shibas, I have handled/shown many breeds professionally, Insturcted handling classes, I have traveled and shown at shows ALL OVER the U.S., I belong to National and Regional Shiba Inu Clubs, 3 all-breed San Diego clubs (2010 board member of Bahia Sur), 2010 Board member of Obedience Club of San Diego, Inc.
